We are now looking for a junior Software Engineer with a background in electrical engineering, power systems, or software development for an exciting consulting assignment with a global leader in the energy sector.

You will be part of a highly skilled team working on HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) Control & Protection software. The role covers the full delivery cycle of refurbishment projects – including tendering, design, testing, integration, verification, and deployment of software solutions ensuring safe and reliable operation of HVDC plants and transmission links.

The position requires onsite presence (100%) and offers the opportunity to work in a technically advanced and international environment.


Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of HVDC refurbishment projects: tendering, design, testing, integration, verification, and commissioning

  • Develop, test, and deploy control and protection software for HVDC installations

  • Work closely with customers and provide technical training

  • Take responsibility for planning and organizing daily tasks

  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction


Qualifications

Must-have requirements

To be considered for this role, the following requirements must be clearly demonstrated in your CV:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Software Engineering, or related field
    Alternatively: a technical degree with 10–15 years of relevant experience

  • 2–6 years of relevant work experience

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

  • Interest or experience in software development and programming

  • Interest or experience in digital control technology, signal processing, and filtering

  • Interest or experience from the HVDC or power industry (e.g., AC substation maintenance)

  • Located in Sweden

  • Available for 100% onsite work (remote work is not possible)

Nice-to-have requirements

  • Knowledge of Swedish or other languages is an advantage

  • Previous experience working in international projects is a plus

  • Experience in HVDC or large-scale energy systems is highly meritorious


Terms

This is a consulting assignment, which means you will be employed by us and placed at the client.

  • Workload: Full-time

  • Location: 100% onsite at the client’s premises (Sweden)

  • Start: As agreed

  • Duration: Long-term or project-based depending on assignment scope
